Northern Pines - A Christian Vacation with a Purpose
Northern Pines is a non-denominational Christian Family Conference
that has met each summer since 1974.
2008
marks Northern Pines’ 35th year of Family Conferences. Northern
Pines conferences are now held at Green Lake Conference Center,
Green Lake, Wisconsin. Each conference is 1 week long from Sunday
afternoon to Saturday morning. Northern Pines provides inspiring
speakers, inspirational music, dynamic and caring children and youth
programs.
Northern Pines features separate programming for each age group.
- Children (3rd grade and below)
- Wilderness (grades 4-6)
- Junior High (grades 7-9)
- Senior High (grades 10-12)
The facilities at Green Lake Conference Center affords opportunity
to house families and provide a unique vacation experience for the
entire family; moms and dads of all ages, single parents, single
adults, and grandparents. There is evening care for children 8 or
younger plus children’s program activities every morning.
Wilderness
During Week One in 2008, 4th, 5th and 6th graders (our
Wilderness Program) will enjoy a day camp experience. They will join
their group after breakfast for a day of fun led by a caring staff
of counselors/leaders. They will return to their parents each
evening to stay for the night. During Week Two in 2008,
the Wilderness Program, grades 4 – 6, will be housed with their
program in cabins (not with their parents). Please note that the
cost for the Wilderness Program is different each week. (see rate
table notes)
Junior/Senior High
Junior High, grades 7, 8, and 9, and Senior High, grades 10, 11 and
12 are housed with their program and have their own separate and
complete programs – their own counselors and program directors.
Adults
Adults enjoy daily sessions with inspirational speakers addressing
family living and other interpersonal relationships using the Bible
as the basis for application and perspective. Guest musicians for
the adult and youth programs add another dimension of participation
and enjoyment. All may enjoy the vacation recreation facilities. A
week of challenging renewal and growth awaits you – physically,
mentally, socially and spiritually.
C.C.A
Northern Pines C.C.A.s (Child Care Assistants)
The C.C.A.’s are boys and girls 13 and older who provide care for
the children – newborn to 8 years old. They also participate in
their own Bible study. C.C.A.’s have the afternoon off for free time
– sunbathe, sleep, read, play tennis, swim, visit the craft shop,
etc. or they may volunteer for additional paid babysitting. In the
evening from 7:00 until the adults return, a C.C.A. cares for
children while parents attend the evening adult program. The
C.C.A.’s are with the same children each evening.
